Diamond Jubilee Dinner

On June 20th, 2008, we celebrated our Diamond Jubilee with a dinner at the Kings Gap Court Hotel in Hoylake.

The Presidents table with the present and a past musical director in ernest and no doubt learned conversation, DJD Presidents table

Each table was named after a composer whose music we had sung in recent years. This was Haydn.

This one is Verdi but he has been taken out of his stand.

Vivaldi was being consulted by the chairman at this point. DJD Vivaldi

Bach was included, although it is some years since we sang anything of either of these two.

Jim, who had threatened to discourse at length on the technicalities of medieval part song but who of course did not.

The speeches over, the diners slowly dispersed, some to prepare to sing our celebratory "Messiah" the next day.
